Quick Start

Sight Tape Gen generates a custom sight tape based on your bow's speed and sight radius. Here's how to get your first tape in a few minutes.

Step 1 โ€” Enter Your Arrow Speed

At the top of the generator, enter your arrow speed in fps. The most accurate method is to use a chronograph. If you don't have one, enter your bow's IBO speed and we'll estimate from there โ€” but chronograph data will give you a better tape.

Tip: Shoot at least 5โ€“10 arrows through the chronograph and use the average. Consistency matters more than peak speed.

Step 2 โ€” Enter Your Sight Radius

Sight radius is the distance from your peep sight to the sight housing pin. See Measuring Sight Radius for the exact method. A typical compound bow sight radius is between 6 and 12 inches.

Step 3 โ€” Choose Your Range

Select the maximum distance you want your tape to cover. For most bowhunters, 60 or 80 yards is enough. You can unlock 80โ€“100 yards with a one-time NZ$5 purchase.

Step 4 โ€” Generate and Print

Click Generate Tape. Your tape will appear on screen. Print it at 100% scale (no fit-to-page scaling) and cut it out. Apply it to your sight's tape slot, aligning your close-range sight mark (typically 20 yards) with the correct position on the tape.

Important: Always verify the tape at the range before hunting. Shoot at known distances and confirm the marks line up. See Verifying Your Tape.
